Five Bills to Improve the ACA

Improving the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Senator Christopher Coons of Delaware reminds us that there are bills already in print that will improve upon this law and make it work better for families and businesses.

  • The Small Business Tax Credit Accessibility Act to expand tax credits that help small businesses provide health insurance for employees and their families. (114th Congress)
  • The Access to Independent Health Insurance Advisors Act, which would help ensure independent insurance agents and brokers are able to continue providing necessary health insurance coverage assistance to consumers.
  • The Commonsense Reporting Act, which would simplify and streamline employer reporting requirements.
  • The Small Business Healthcare Relief Act which would allow small businesses to provide Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) to employees with health insurance.
  • Legislation to exempt volunteer fire companies from the ACA’s employer mandate. (113th Congress)
